I run SpyBotS&D on both Windows 2K Pro and Windows XP. I have had ZERO problems with it. Whenever I install it on a new machine of mine, I go and donate another $5 to the author via PayPal. Although 'recently', I ran into an odd problem. The mirror for updates was down, and so SpyBotS&D 'looked' as if it was frozen dead. Swapping out the mirror setting for it to a live one fixed that situation. Oh well... network calls on Windows will often look up on you, regardless of what you put in for a time out maximum.

I am surprised you do not have PFE (Programmer's File Editor) listed. The author's site is hard to find, but the program itself is available from most major download sites. It's saved my bacon quite a few times. Great Freeware.
